Aspring Capital advised VEON on $2.1 bn deal to sell its Russian operations to local management
November 24, 2022, Moscow — Aspring Capital acted as VEON Ltd.’s financial advisor in the sale of PJSC VimpelCom, operating under the Beeline brand in Russia. This transaction, valued at approximately 130 billion rubles, is one of the largest deals in Russia in 2022.
VimpelCom will be bought out by local management, with an estimated enterprise value of around 370 billion rubles. VEON will receive 130 billion rubles (approximately $2.1 billion) as part of the agreement.
The completion of this transaction is subject to meeting customary closing conditions. This includes obtaining regulatory approvals, relevant government licenses, and the required consent from VEON’s creditors.
